Can you guess what his degree was in? Thank you so much Jolene for allowing me to bake for another great occasion! Congratulations to the family and to Adam for such a fine achievement and to a successful future and career ahead of him! XO Andie {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
Usually baking cakes is not typically one of the things that I do here at Ditzie Cakes but it was a challenging request that I didn't mind taking on. I will also have to admit that one cake severely had a cake flop because it towered so high! Gratefully, I did not wait until the morning to add the coconut to the sides of the cake! By witnessing the disaster by six o'clock the evening before, I knew I had until midnight to prepare a brand new cake! Well, we decided to make it one layer less this time and it was a huge success! Damn! The uncertainties of cake baking as this was my first disaster ever but so happy that I had time to make another! So the menu was a Pina Colada {my unfortunate cake disaster} Lemon Blueberry with white chocolate buttercream and a Hazelnut Mousse Ganache. I was also pleasantly surprised with my first attempt to do an Ombre buttercream! Yes, we will try more ombres in the next cake challenge for sure! {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
I love being able to surprise a customer with something SWEET! By the way, I found some fun Circus Stamps at Michael's again in their dollar bin as of course I was walking to the check out! I couldn't resist them with all of these wonderful animals wearing their silly little hats! So they were perfect for the occasion...just need a really good ink next time so that they are darker! Oh well... Happy Birthday to a dear customer of mine, Marianne! Nicole and I tried to sneek these pretty favors in so it would be a great surprise with one of your favorite flavors too! SOUTH COAST GARDEN EVENT FOR WEST ELM! This was another fun South Coast event to have dressed up one of West Elm's natural style tables with delicious modern style desserts by Ditzie Cakes! {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
A little flair of Spanish ruffles, with a kick of fucshia and the shimmer of golds really set the stage for this beautiful birthday party for one of my favorite customers! Happy Birthday sweet Kristine!
This was such a nice afternoon Garden Tea Party with a private affaire by the South Coast Marketing Group! The ladies enjoyed a few sweet temptations along with their coffee and tea with these delightful pairings. There was my favorite Carrot Cake, Lemon Zing, Passion Fruit and the infamous Double Shot Espresso! I am excited to be asked again to cater next week as they have asked Ditzie Cakes to return for another Tea Party! {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
This was Jennifer and Andrews beautiful wedding day on a quaint home ground in San Juan Capistrano! It was collaboration of efforts where the Mother of the Bride supplied some beautiful vintage-ware and I had the privilege to arrange and style it all together! She also made her daughter and future son in law's wedding cake but I had the fun of plucking some flowers and succulents from the garden to give it the finishing touch! I think I just may start growing these in my own garden for a future occasion...I just love this look. Everything looked amazing and you should have seen how this sweet home with a little barn in the back was the perfect setting to host a gorgeous home spun wedding! {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
Nothing could have delighted me more than making something magical for my dear friend Lindsey Besthorn for her bridal shower over the weekend! How I wish I could have been there to celebtrate this happy day for you but I am greatly looking forward in sharing your happiness on your wedding day! All my love, Andie {photography by: andie from ditzie cakes}
