May all of these creative whimsies of mine delight the cupcake connoisseurs and let the fashion couturists come together in this fanciful blog I have created for you! Ditzie Cakes loves to make pretty things! Come and share with me! -Andie
I met this terrifc lady by the name of Heidi who's daughter Ericka was graduating from USC! They were having a Mexican themed party so I thought that flowers would be festive way of decorating the cupcakes! Flowers always look beautiful and can never fail to not disappoint you. Heidi, I must add, is a very talented jewelry designer and makes the most amazing silver jewelry. If you have time you must check out her etsy store..... "uno of a kind" . Her designs are elegant, modern and evoke a spiritualty and I think you will be intrigued as have I! One day I told her.... I will be shopping there!
Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous ladies! Wishing you all a terrific day ....with love from ditzie cakes!
Something new I want to try at ditzie cakes! These brownie pops are so much fun and so addictive.... LOL, to eat and to make. These daisy and bumble bee brownie pops I actually made for my family on Easter. However I was describing them to my BFF and she told me that I ought to post them! So here they are! Aren't they cute!!!!

What a beautiful young couple that tied the knot this morning! Amanda and Justin couldn't have planned a better day to celebrate. For the weather turned out better than expected and the location in Anaheim Hills at the Golf Course and Club was ideal! I have to tell you that I adored the young couple when they came to see me back in September to have me create their wedding top tier cake and cupcakes for their guests. Amanda always kept me posted! So I couldn't wait to create something perfect for the couples happiest day.
Her sister in law graciously gave me stems of green dendrobiums to decorate. Debbie, whom is Amanda's sister in law, has a wonderful floral business named Flower's Etc. in Fountain Valley! It was Debbie who had recommended me to Amanda when we both had inadvertently catered to the Gilkey wedding last year. How exciting!!! Please check out her website because you will be impressed! I can't wait to show some of the wedding photos from the photographer. Best wishes to you! I wish Amanda and Justin true happiness for their future together!

Don't you know of anyone who might be expecting a bundle of sweetness anytime soon? I just came in contact with Diane from Treasured Totes on Etsy and she makes the best bags out of my cupcake pattern that I have ever seen! She contacted me today to let me know that she created something new , a diaper bag, with the cupcake pattern ....and I just had to take a look! Isn't it cute!!! If nobody snatches it.... I will!!!!!

I met this terrific lady by the name of Marilyn who wanted to host a baby shower for a friend of hers! Instructions by the expectant and her mother were advised to make something very simple with little fuss and relatively with no theme. Well luckily it didn't turn out that way!!!
When I walked into Marilyn's lovely home, the tables were decorated with linens that were layered with the colors of chocolate and celery. Chocolate napkins were tied with baby blue ribboned bows! Simply stunning. The center peice of each table was to be filled with a tower of cupcakes and below the tree lied adorable toy cars ,trucks, building blocks and each seating had a vanilla soy candle dressed in baby blue organza! Just delightful.... I took pictures with someone elses camera so I am hoping that she will send me them to me soon! I would love to add to this post to show you how it all came together.
I had so much fun with these decorations and I hope that the guests and the expectant mother enjoyed the thoughtfulness and great planning of the hostess too.... that's Marilyn! Hooray!
Ditzie Cakes certainly likes to entertain for a 40th Birthday Party! My customer's husband is celebrating his 40th Birthday and whooping it up on the town with alot of friends! After the limo ride and a few stops for the evening, she was going to reserve a hotel room for all of there friends to celebrate some more...how cool! Along for the ride will be these delectable cupcakes! A Whisky Sour, a Red Velvet and a Malibu Coconut Rum which I like to call Coco Island. I am so happy that I get to go along! Have fun and enjoy!
I am on a new mission to try a more fanciful cupcake based on some traditionally named cakes. This one above gave me the idea! I have started you all off with my version of the German Chocolate Cake which by the way was never originally created by a German. I am happy to say that, even though I am German, this cake wouldn't make a German proud. I am not putting this lovely cake down...No! No! No! It has wonderful nuances that are working well together. Such as, the light and airy chocolate cake. It's as if I have actually recreated a chocolate souffle! I was almost afraid to top it with the custard pecan coconut frosting fearing that it would deflate! It needed a little bit more...so I added a mocha cream frosting to the edges an dsprinkled it with a few more shavings of coconut! I really do like this one and I can't wait to add more to fine dessert menu very soon! Stay tuned!
One of my favorite apron designers is Cynthia Wadell of Heavenly Hostess! She is simply one of the most admired in the industry! "Desperate Housewives" has had a few episodes with Bree Van de Kamp in one of these elegant aprons...and now Heavenly Hostess has added my cupcake design to her collection! Oh my goodness, I would have never thought that the day would come! There is a children's apron in her line too that is simply adorable so Mother and Daughter would look ever so stylish together baking in the kitchen together. What's different about this particular Heavenly Hostess apron is the festive party coloration that differs from the one I had initially started with ...yes, spoken like a true textile artist! The first colorations were more on the vintage side and this one has "fun loving party" written all over it! So please check out her wondeful site and check out the collection she put together using my sweet cupcake design!!!

There are plenty more lovely cupcakes on the ditzie cake website.... however, I thought it would be fun to add a few anti valentine cupcakes too! Have a little fun...right? And cry your eyes out!!!

How exciting! I just found out that The Cat's Pajama's had done a separate printing for their own line making a lovely soft flannel out of my well known cupcake pattern! I think that I really want some! I only stumbled on it recently because I had to create another pattern for them this week for a new snow dog print....I will show you guys when it is done! How exciting! There is also a cherry print I did too. So check it out! Cat's Pajama's is really well known with the celebrities and some patterns have made it in a couple tv series...especially Will and Grace.
Happy New Year everyone! I am thrilled that it is the beginning of another year and that the old one, though it had left a lasting impression that was both wonderfully fortunate and also sometimes trying, it had graciously paved it's way into the year 2009! Odd number years seem to be my favorite and luckily for me good things happen in odd years! So my good friends.... here's to the New Year! May there be lasting and beautiful impressions with the choices you and I choose to make and all others that life has in store for us!Anyway, there was a terrific celebration for someone I know of on New Year's Eve! My awesome customer's husband was celebrating his birthday along with a few friends. I was inspired by one of the red envelopes she had given me from her last order so the theme of RED prevailed. It's funny how certain people can touch your life and also inspire you!She is one of the most giving and a most thoughtful person..... I just wanted to create something to evoke that good fortune and blessings were gratefully returned! Thanks so much Debbie H. and a Happy New Year!

To your Family from mine....wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!May there be joy, health and happiness in the New Year! Cheers!
Yes, Tis the Season to be doing a lot of baking! Fa La La la la la la..la...laaaa!
